Alan Dapré

I have written plays for schools all about robots, WW2, werewolves, spaceships, aliens and virtual reality. Hover over the covers for more info.

Welcome to the official website of Alan Dapré.

Thanks for stopping by.

I currently write humorous books for young readers, such as the furry and funny ‘Porridge the Tartan Cat series’ (and I paint pictures too). Over the years, I have also worked as a teacher, BBC Radio playwright, children’s TV scriptwriter, illustrator and petrol pump attendant.

This website will tell you a little bit about me and what I do these days.

I wrote books that tied-in with two televisions shows. Brum and Boohbah, but that was quite a while ago now.
I write picture books too. Two favourites are - Beanpole Billy, where a boy is mistaken for the teacher on his first day at school - and - Amy’s Armbands, all about a girl who learns to swim … in the sky!
