Here's a fab illustration by Alex Ayliffe of my dog Max, who is really my dog Max.
He is mainly a Sheprador, part German Shepherd and part Labrador. But also has some collie and staffy and spaniel and...

Max was passed around a lot in his first year and has had lots of names.
I chose to call him Max because he looks like a Max. He is full of energy and takes things to the max.
The day he came to live with me, he plonked himself on the hall carpet and made himself straight at home. I called out his new name - MAX - and he instantly looked over at me.
Max is a joyful, calm, happy dog and a pleasure to be with. He's part of the family now and much loved too.

This is not a real book cover. I had fun mocking up a book cover to use as part of my author events.
The illustrations by Alex Ayliffe really capture Max's charm and character.
He is funny, furry and friendly.
No wonder the little girl wanted Max to live with her! He's fabulous company and - who knows? - maybe you will meet him after one of my author events?
